Kendrick Lamar talks about personal struggles in his fifth album

Five years after his last album, Kendrick Lamar is finally back. His new album is a complex blend of social and personal issues.

Born in Compton, California, Kendrick Lamar is one of the most prominent contemporary artists, having impacted music aficionados with his personal insights on systemic problems like racism and poverty. This unique lyricism has even rewarded the rapper with a Pulitzer Prize in 2018 for his “DAMN” album.

For “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers”, Kendrick Lamar stayed true to himself. Within the 18 tracks of the project, the rapper discusses his personal struggles with fame, family and childhood trauma. There are also several socially conscious songs on the problems faced by Black Americans today.
