Gorillaz has launched their eighth album, “Cracker Island”

Gorillaz is back with a new album. Throughout the project, listeners follow the popular cartoon quartet on their journey to build a ridiculous cult.

The animated band, which was created by British singer Damon Albarn and cartoonist Jamie Hewlett, has announced their return with their eighth studio album called “Cracker Island”. It sees the personas of Noodle, Russel, Murdoc and 2D moving to Los Angeles to create a cult. Gorillaz has collaborated with multiple artists including Stevie Nicks and Bad Bunny for this album.

According to Jamie Hewlett, the idea of a cult came from conversations he had with Damon Albarn following Brexit which cracked the economic foundations of Britain. Furthermore, the duo noticed that the world was becoming more divided. All of this contributed to the main theme of the project.
